Addictive Personalities

Nowadays, the world has become an accelerated place to live; everything has to be done fast, so people are always running and they do not have enough time for anything. They get obsessed with their jobs, computers, video games and forget other things that are important too, like family, spirituality, friends, and themselves. Also, most of the time when they discover that their addictions make them be alone; they start drinking and using drugs to forget the problems.

It does not mean that being a hardworking person or enjoying video games is something bad, but if these activities are interfering in your normal life, you have to worry about them. It is fine if you love your job, but when you do not go home, do not eat, and do not sleep due to work, it is when you have developed an addictive personality. It does not matter to what you are addicted to, but when you lose control of your life and you cannot find a balance, you are always thinking in one thing, for example, work, music, video games and you cannot focus on anything else, your family and friends tell you that you are not the same, you have an addiction and you should find help.

Sometimes it is so difficult to give us a break and see the beautiful things that life still has, but regrettably in our daily routine there is no time. We need to find time for us and forget about all the addictions that we have developed, maybe in this moment they are not very problematic, but if we do not make changes, they are going to become serious addictions. Try to forget about work, computers, video games, cell phones, or what keeps your mind busy every day. Do a different activity that takes you out of the daily routine and try to do this every week; it would help to keep yourself away from addictions.
